Application for Membership
to the 101 Society

You have been personally invited to apply. This is not a form — it is an examination of character. The 101 Society is guided by four values: fun, passion, curiosity, and respect. This application is an opportunity to demonstrate them.

Fun
Passion
Curiosity
Respect
Connoisseurship

I of V  First Value

Fun

The Society is not a boardroom. It is a room where serious people allow themselves to be genuinely delighted — by objects, by ideas, by each other. We take what we collect seriously. We do not take ourselves too seriously.

The category does not need to be prestigious. Depth and delight matter more than market value.

II of V  Second Value

Passion

Members of the 101 Society are defined not by what they own but by the depth of their engagement with what they care about. Passion here means the kind of commitment that requires no audience.

III of V  Third Value

Curiosity

The 101 in 101 Society is not incidental. The Society is designed to hold one hundred and one different kinds of serious engagement with the world — because genuinely curious people resist category. The most interesting members connect dots that have no business being connected.

This is the question we most look forward to reading.

IV of V  Fourth Value

Respect

The Society will not admit someone who cannot bring genuine respect into the room — for other members, for the objects they hold, for the privacy of what is shared. Respect is the condition on which everything else rests.

We are interested in character and perspective as much as professional credential.

V of V  Fifth Value

Connoisseurship

The Society was built around serious collectors who have a real and recurring need for somewhere exceptional to keep what they value. We are curious about what you collect, how you hold it, and what you find missing from the current landscape.

If you do not consider yourself a collector, describe what you are deeply engaged with instead.
